New items have been added at Chav Shop both in-world and on the Marketplace. I shall show you some pictures and then you can decide what you think of them, okay?
These are mesh scarves, rigged to more or less move as you do. They are in dirt colours as I am on a Wastelands kick at the moment.
This is system layer clothing.YEAH, I KNOW, SO OLD SCHOOL! *hi5* Can be worn by “Classic” avatars which is to say not mesh ones because making appliers take approx ages and I have enough hassle just boxing things and putting them on the MP. So there.(Srsly though, if you do have a specific appliers request pls feel free to contact me and I’ll see what I can do.)
This is probably the best thing, it is a lovely crown made of things that you might find at a landfill site. Unrigged mesh, makes you look important.

Chav Shop(e) is now open again in-world in Second Life. It’s gonna be all new items, but you can find most of the older stuff on the SL Marketplace if you are looking for something from days gone by. The SLURL to the virtual brick’n’mortar is this link here, or you can wander The Junkyard region until you find it.
So yeah it’s a mix of clothing and accessories. The clothing shall be mesh and also some things on the ye olde system clothing layers, cos I still wear that stuff occasionally and it can’t just be me, rite? I shall try to be quick about adding new things to it so that it can at least sit there half-full when my attention inevitably wanders to other hobbies for a while.
Oh! And there is this now as well:
The Poopseum is located in the building behind Chav Shop(e) and is as it says a history of stuff in Second Life as told by poops of historical importance &tc. Each display case will spit out a notecard on touch, telling you THINGS about THE PAST. There are so far seven (I think…) exhibits, so make you sure you run like the wind to view the museum.
If that doesn’t appeal (WHY THE HELL NOT??) then there’s always the Atomic Teahouse next to Chav Shope where you can sit for a while and pretend to drink tea.
Anywho, that’s what’s been happing in my SL life.

https://www.kitely.com/market?store=3204275&q=template –> these are some full perms mesh templates what you can buy from the chav now. i forgot to mention them before, oops.
Yes, Chav Shop is what I am calling it, it sells clothes I made (mesh and “classic” system layer things) on the Great Canadian Grid. I kind of just wanted a place to play shop that wasn’t *too* commercialised and terrifying. It seems like a nice grid so far, I am having fun there. Here is the SLURL for Chav Shop: hop://login.greatcanadiangrid.ca:8002/Quaking%20Aspen/76/181/37
The above picture is the first attempt I did at making an ad for some sort of virtual magazine which alas I can’t remember the name of off-hand. I went with a second design which was I hope better and for sure has less boobs on it.

Joined up to the Great Canadian Grid, which seems very nice so far. I attended an event by hypergridding from Kitely and then joined the grid properly the next (?) day.
Kitely has been being my main OpenSim home, I’m building a dystopia in the sky on my sim (Dust — be sure to visit!) but there’s a lot to be done there even though I think I’ve finished all the exterior stuff.
And in SL my avatar was 10 years old on the 18th. For once I actually remembered to log in on my Rezday as well.

Chav is once again living in Babbage, this time in the canal region with her space-sister Moonie. The downstairs is a shop selling mesh clothes which is of course tremendously exicting for everyone. They are me own meshes, so at least they are a bit different from a lot of the other things out there, right? It’s Victorian/steampunky spaceclothes for the ladies, though I might end up making like idk a couple of hats or something at some point as well.
Babbage is super-pretty, btw.
I am still in the Wastelands (in the Junkyard region, more specifically) and hopefully at some point I will make things to put in a shop there. Cos I made some things and then I forgot where I put them, so, y’know.
I need to upload things to Kitely and Inworldz, the latter of which I have somewhat neglected of late because I didn’t know what to build.

well, i am investigating how i would texture more than one mesh object at a time, in the hopes of being able to add basic mesh attachents to appliers/layer clothes, but so far this “partial mesh” thing doesn’t seem that worth the effort if you’re making all the bits yourself? we shall see what happens, but i wouldn’t hold my breath.
among the nice things about opensim is that not only can you still get away with making and wearing system-layer clothes, but you can also just do mesh sizes and hope one fits, because you don’t have to navigate the world of mesh bodies there.
anyway, i was thinking about the niches i play with in sl and the lack of clothing that’s on a level with the more mainstream stuff. which has always been a thing, i suppose, but what i wouldn’t give for, say, mesh steampunk outfits that aren’t entirely meli imako and thus the same things in every shop. i want dresses like i want! only made nicer than i could make them myself! and without even the effort of making my own substandard things! cater to my needs, damn you!
templates are fun and all but the less generic they are the more they limit you to that one design. a t-shirt is a t-shirt, after all, but a big frock is probably going to look like the same big frock no matter what you do to it.

Urgh, I spent the evening making some clothes appliers for mesh bodies. I made four different kinds for each item, plus the system layers, and basically fifteen minutes of work has become two and a half hours somehow. I would not be shocked if I messed up at least one of the appliers, but I can test them before putting them anywhere to reduce the possibility of enraged customers.
I mean mesh bodies are great and all that (I have two) but I just wanted to pointlessly whine to the ether about how haaaaaaaaard life is when I try to keep up with the innovation of others.

So I finally got round to listing my stuff on the to-be-opened Inworldz marketplace. It didn’t take as long as I feared, it’s probably about equal easiness with listing on the Kitely marketplace. Which is good and leaves the SL one as winner of the “least easy-to-use virtual world online market thingy.” Man, I hate listing things on that one (and it’s a pretty thankless task these days with how saturated SL’s market is for just about anything).
Anyways, you can view listings at the moment, not sure when it’s going to open for purchases.

I think this will be good, because I always suck at finding things in-world for some reason. Maybe it doesn’t need one as desperately as Kitely did, but it’ll be nice I think. It opens for purchases in the next week, which gives you time to work out how it, err, works.
