Mithras Day Gossip, Wheeee

Posted in Uncategorized at 3:08 am by Chav Paderborn

Do I want to log in and look at Santa hats and red-and-green dresses? Eh, it’s better than Halloween, which is probably my least favourite time of the SL year. Maybe if you really love pumpkin-orange. It might be great if you do, and I don’t want to make you feel bad about that.

Anyway! While researching two pairs of boots by Top Designers that look like exactly the same shoe, I found the unrelated but interesting post here:

Yes believe the hype – I actually do have skins coming – lol, and since it ushers in new pricing,i can’t very well return to old pricing for just a week without angering everyone

Is Ms Moody about to lower prices on her insanely expensive shoes? After speculation about falling sales, it might make sense to do that, but I’m not sure of the overall lasting effect when anything under 50% off still leaves them as by far the most expensive shoe shop on the grid, even with Maitreya and the like playing catch-up on pricing. (“OMG I must have those shoes! I’ll get them off the Marketplace… WTF PRICES?”) I dunno, maybe people have been turned off by the reveal that Moody has made a million USD selling those things, which made it that bit harder to take the 2000L for a frankenfoot idea. I mean at least with Anshe all you were saying fashion-wise was “BUY A DECENT SKIN, YOU CAN AFFORD IT, FOR THE LOVE OF TORLEY!”

Anyway, my point is that I read that Facebook update to imply that prices be lowering once the skins are released. You may have forgotten about the skins, since we were informed of them many months ago and they have yet to appear. Still, we are probably whetted. Actually, if the shoes get cheaper that might allow for the skins to be a non-stupid price, given that when the SM skins were announced the first thought for many was “So will these be 5000L each, then?” Maybe the late release is about making tattoo-layer make-ups or something, but I’m still on Viewer 1.23 or Imprudence so I couldn’t really say anything about how that stuff works.

Oh, and I just learned that Second Wave Apparel closed down in the summer. Nobody ever tells me anything. I had some nice jeans from there, though I confess that many of the clothes were too close to photoreal for my usual tastes. Still, it was sad looking on as it moved to progressively smaller stores and then went away entirely.
